Scholarship and Bursary Awards

Among other awards to general industry students were a number provided to nautical science and marine engineering students attending BCIT Marine Campus who are pursuing sea-going careers in the British Columbia, Canadian and international transportation industry. Subsequently, such sea-going officers also become eligible to become marine pilots, harbourmasters and other shore based managers, yachtmasters, marine surveyors. marine lawyers, maritime health and welfare professionals.

The VTF Scholarship Committee have processed additional scholarship and bursary candidates to date which have been reviewed and approved by the VTF Board. These students studied at various educational institutes, including UBC, Simon Fraser, Victoria University, Capilano, Trinity Western, Kwantlen, BCIT, Douglas College and the Justice Institute among others.

Additional student candidates are slated for processing and approval by the Vancouver Transportation Board of Directors.
